ORTD
within the College of Education at The University of Alabama conducts and disseminates research on teaching in the disciplines at the preschool through higher education levels for local, state, regional, and national sectors.

It provides: Focus on teaching in the disciplines
-
Hosts professional development and conferences on teaching in the disciplines
-
Coordinates work with teaching of the disciplines and technology, special education, and English Language Learners (ELL) education
-
Supports the publication of journal articles and chapter
-
Supports professional conference presentations and professional organizations in the disciplines
-
Supports development of experimental curriculum materials
-
Addresses queries from teachers and schools on concerns related to teaching in the disciplines
-
Coordinates with departments and faculty across the university and across the state with support for joint interdisciplinary efforts
-
Coordinates with the Alabama State Department of Education, professional societies, and state agencies to support joint interdisciplinary efforts
